Fabio Aru of Astana won Stage 3 of the Criterium du Dauphiné in Tournon-sur-Rhone.
According to CyclingNews, Tony Martin powered ahead on the climb of the Côte de Sécheras, and Aru and a number of other riders chased him down on the plateau that followed. On the descent to the finish, Aru pushed hard, and had a 7 second lead with 7km to go. The lead was up to 15 seconds with 2km left. He held off the sprinters, led by Alexander Kristoff, to win by 2 seconds.
Aru is to due to be Astana's co-leader, with Vincenzo Nibali, in the Tour de France 2016.

In a bizarre move, the Department for Transport published its draft cycling and walking investment strategy today, Easter Sunday. One might speculate that the publication date was chosen for media managment reasons, to generate minimum adverse publicity.
