Bike maintenance workshops, Yorkshire Tour legacy

1st May 2014

Welcome to Yorkshire has organised some cycling-related workshops, as part of the Yorkshire Tour de France legacy. The courses are being subsidised by the Skills Enhancement Fund.

There are bike maintenance courses at Dalby Bike Barn, Thornton-le-Dale, in the North York Moors National Park. The courses are arranged in conjunction with CTC, and there are beginners' courses on 24th & 30th May 2014, and advanced courses on 17th & 23rd May 2014. They are from 9am to 5.15pm, and cost £36 plus about £10 more in VAT and ticket agency fees. (It seems slightly odd that the advanced courses are held before the beginners' courses).

There are also some more general cycle tourism courses, including 'Welcoming Cyclists', which takes place in Harrogate on 10th June 2014, and 'PR Skills for Success', focusing on maximising the opportunities arising from the Grand Départ.

(See HedgehogCycling's report on the beginners' bike maintenance course).
