Tour of Britain 2014, Stage 5: Brandle wins in Exeter

11th September 2014

Stage 5 of the Tour of Britain was 177km from Exmouth to Exeter via Haytor.

There was a break of four riders - it included Wynants (Belkin), Archbold (An Post Chainreaction), Brandle (IAM), and Stauff (MTN). They hit the final climb of the day, Stoke Hill, with a minute advantage, and soon Brandle got a gap over his breakaway companions.

Brandle held on to the line for the win, Archbold was second (+8s), and Wynants third (+8s). Colbrelli was the fastest of the peloton, 14s behind the winner.
