Yorkshire Festival launch, Harrogate

18th January 2014

Harrogate International Centre

The Yorkshire Festival is to be launched in Harrogate on 27th March 2014, one hundred days before the Tour de France 2014.

A chat-show style event will be held at Harrogate International Centre (which holds 2000 people) at 10.45am on Thursday 27th March, hosted by sports presenter Rob Walker. Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme will be present. It is free to attend. The title of the event is Y14 Yorkshire Tour de Force.

Gary Verity of Welcome to Yorkshire was quoted by the Harrogate Advertiser as saying, 'Anyone who wants to know more about the Tour coming...should register now as seats will go fast - especially given it is a free event.'

Plans and preparations for the race will be discussed, as well as details of the Team Presentation at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, due to take place on 3rd July 2014. Alistair Griffin, a Yorkshire singer/songwriter, has been booked to perform the song he has written as the official anthem of the Grand Départ.
