Prologue Café Bash 2016

The Prologue Café Bash takes place on Sunday 28th August 2016. It's expected to attract around 200 riders, including clubs, teams, and individuals.

The route begins at Prologue Cycling in Harrogate, and takes the A61 to Ripley, then the B6165 to Pateley Bridge. From there, it's up Greenhow Hill, then left on Redlish Road to Blubberhouses, and on Askwith Moor Road to the river Wharfe at Otley. Next, it's uphill to Farnley, down to cross Lindley Wood reservoir, and steeply up past Norwood Hall to Bland Hill. Broad Dubb Road and Norwood Lane take you back to Beckwithshaw, and then the end of the route is on the Otley Road back into Harrogate.

A map of the route, and the leaderboard, can be seen on Strava. The distance is 69.2km and there's 1,333m of climbing.

The meeting point is the café at Prologue Cycling, on Cold Bath Road in Harrogate. Sign on begins at 9.15am, with a £4 fee to pay to cover British Cycling insurance and levy. After a route briefing, the ride begins at 9.30. Riders will set off in small groups, organised by estimated average pace (20mph+, 18+, 16+, 14+, and 12+).

The Beryl Burton cycleway is a traffic-free cycle and foot path between Bilton Village Farm and the Nidd at High Bridge, Knaresborough.

Harrogate, Burnt Yates, & Shaw Mills road cycling route

This 20-mile route, a loop north of Harrogate, uses the Nidderdale Greenway to get out of town to Ripley. It takes in Clint, Burnt Yates, Shaw Mills, and Bishop Thornton.
