The course isn&#8217;t technical and there are no hills, so it should all come down to power, technique and aerodynamics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some possible winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1) Filippo Ganna<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ganna is probably the best time triallist in the world at the moment, and he is the current (2021) World Champion. The course should suit him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here he is talking to Eurosport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yTNT2PR_cDg\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>He seems like a very nice chap, and relaxed too. He is an ITT specialist, but there is perhaps a slight question whether his very best days may be behind him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3) Primoz Roglic<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Roglic is the second of the Jumbo riders who may be in with a shout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Logically, Roglic should do very well but not as well as those riders who are totally focused on the TTs rather than on the overall race result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4) Wout van Aert<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"320\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/hedgehogcycling.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/wout-van-aert.jpg\" alt=\"Wout van Aert, by Cl\u00e9mence LN, Licence CC BY-SA 4.0\" class=\"wp-image-1010\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hedgehogcycling.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/wout-van-aert.jpg 320w, https:\/\/hedgehogcycling.co.uk\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/wout-van-aert-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><figcaption><a href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:WVA_Paris-Roubaix_2022.jpg\">Wout van Aert<\/a>, by Cl\u00e9mence LN, <a href=\"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-sa\/4.0\/deed.en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Licence CC BY-SA 4.0<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Wout van Aert, the third card that Jumbo Visma have to play, can do nearly everything. In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingweekly.com\/racing\/filippo-ganna-storms-to-time-trial-victory-on-stage-four-of-the-criterium-du-dauphine\">Stage 4 Dauphin\u00e9 individual time trial<\/a> he was second to Ganna, only 2s down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Van Aert has a realistic chance of winning the stage and taking the yellow jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5) Tadej Pogacar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Pogacar ought not to be a candidate to win on a flat, pure-power <em>parcours<\/em>, but he has surprised people before and may do so again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other outside bets could include Mathieu Van der Poel and Geraint Thomas.
