The driver hit the cyclist and knocked him off his bike, but did not stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The vehicle will have damage to its door mirror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">York Place\/Oatlands Drive Junction, 7th January 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thestrayferret.co.uk\/third-cyclist-injured-on-local-roads-in-space-of-month\/\">The Stray Ferret says<\/a> that a cyclist was injured by the driver of a vehicle at the junction of York Place and Oatlands Drive on Saturday 7th January 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police closed York Place to traffic, and local people saw the cyclist lying on the ground and being treated by paramedics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mother Shipton&#8217;s, 18th December 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On 18th December 2023 a cyclist was hit by a driver on the A59 near Mother Shipton&#8217;s Cave, Knaresborough, and sustained minor injuries. The driver did not stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The missing link between High Bridge\/Mother Shipton&#8217;s and the start of the A59 cycle path further up the hill is one of <a href=\"https:\/\/harrogatecycleaction.org.uk\/priorities\/\">Harrogate Cycle Action&#8217;s priorities<\/a> &#8211; number 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For years, the campaign group has been asking North Yorkshire Council to plug the 150m gap, but NYC has failed to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The council even received money for this route in 2020 from the Active Travel Fund 2 &#8211; but it has failed to build any on-the-ground improvements with the cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Asda, 15th December 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A female cyclist sustained minor injuries when hit by a driver near Asda, at the junction of Bower Road and Haywra Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drivers routinely ignore the Left Turn Only out of Asda car park.
