Prologue is a local bike shop near the centre of Harrogate, with a focus on high quality road bikes and accessories. Chevin Cycles has been going for 40 years in Otley, but they opened stores in Harrogate and Skipton in 2014.
They sell road, mountain, triathlon, time trial, women's, and commuting/leisure bikes. Trek and Boardman are among the makes they stock. They offer clothing and footwear, accessories, and parts.
Click and collect is available. They have a demo fleet, so you can try out bikes. They also do electric hire bikes.
Chevin Cycles' workshop for repairs and maintenance has a good reputation locally.

There's a Halfords on Knaresborough Road, Harrogate, with a bike department upstairs. They do everything you'd expect at Halfords, including reasonably-priced parts, and bike servicing.

Resurrection Bikes recycle and sell donated bikes to raise money for charity.
If you wish to donate a bike, it can be left with Resurrection Bikes, or they will collect. They do a safety check, and any essential repairs, then offer the bike for sale at a reasonable price. You can have a look at the bikes ready for sale; if there's a suitable bike in their stock which is awaiting repair, it can usually be ready in a week or two. The Yorkshire Bike Company is a mobile cycle maintenance and cycle sales business.
Andrew Ryland is a Cytech qualified mechanic, and can undertake all aspects of bike maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating and (when necessary) replacing chains; and greasing and re-setting bearings in wheel hubs, bottom brackets, and headsets.
Yorkshire Bike Company also sell accessories, including Tannus polymer compound tyres (no air, so no risk of punctures). They are suppliers of Gepida e-bikes, Avocet Ryedale town bikes, Avocet De Novo kids' bikes, Avocet Coyote mountain bikes, and Avocet Simmonsohn tandems. They also offer children's balance bikes.
