There's a new cargo bike business in Harrogate.
JR Cycles Harrogate upcycle old bikes to create tailor-made cargo bikes, for the perfect environmentally-friendly transport.
JR Cycles is a retirement business set up by John Rowe. For many years, he has been repairing and selling on donated bikes at the charity he founded and continues to lead, Resurrection Bikes.
He has a huge amount of experience as a bike mechanic, and has now trained in frame-building.
All bikes will have hand-built frames, with zinc undercoat and powdercoat finish. They'll have strong alloy wheels, Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres, front hub brakes and rear V brakes.
The options include:
This is a one person business, so volumes will be low. Each bike takes about 4-6 weeks to build, paint, assemble and test. The result will be a quality, tailor-made, environmentally-friendly product.
