This is a great book to inspire your riding around York. It is well written with lots of interesting local history and the routes pick up lots of interesting sites as well as good cafe stops. There is a fascinating cycle tour of the city of York and then rides out from the city that are suitable for families as well as longer leisure rides. From Harrogate it is easy to hop on the train with your bike and try them out. Thoroughly recommended!

Lovely book, has given us lots of ideas for new places to cycle around the York area. Nice mix of facts about the route, nature, history along with places to stop for a drink & snack. Well researched and delivered with humour which makes it an enjoyable read. Excellent photos and links to further information / maps / navigation etc. So far we’ve tackled the tour de Tadcaster & Beningbrough Hall along with bits of the Solar System with our own diversions! Just plucking up courage to try the Pocklington route next. We’ve discovered lots of quiet roads and cycle ways that we didn’t know about. Highly recommended.
