Description

Bike Rides in Harrogate and Nidderdale is a paperback book of family bike rides, mountain bike rides, and road bike rides.

There’s everything you need for the rides – route description, photos, maps, and satellite navigation files – but there’s more to the book than that.

It’s intended to inspire you to explore Harrogate and Nidderdale by bike. There are nice images, and feature boxes for a deeper understanding of the landscapes, towns and villages you pass through, including their history, the people who have shaped them, and the wildlife that thrives there.

There is a charge of £0.95 for packing and delivery.

This is a lovely family cycling resource with a well chosen sample of routes for simple family rides, mountain biking or road biking all from or near Harrogate. There is plenty of interesting information about sites along the routes, the wildlife and places for refreshment to inspire you to try the rides out. It is well written and illustrated with lovely photos.

A nice touch, because the author David Mitchell biked it round to mine he refunded the postage. Anyway, I’m local but have found inspiration for fresh adventure and may well look to get a suitable bike to explore the offroad routes. Lovely historical details – photographed a couple of grandchildren in front of musket ball holes from Parliamentarian execution of Royalists after the Battle of Marston Moor. Useful for locals and essential reading for visiting cyclists. 👍
