As expected, time trial World Champion Remco Evenepoel won Stage 5 of the Tour de France 2025, a race against the clock from Caen to Caen.

Eduardo Affini set a good early time. He was eventually bumped down to third by Evenepoel and Pogacar.

Bruno Armirail was fourth, Kévin Vauquelin fifth, and Florian Lipowitz sixth.

It was a disappointing day for Vingegaard, who could only manage thirteenth, 1min21 down on Remco.

In the GC, Pogacar is the new leader, Remco second at 42s, Vauqelin third at 59s, and Jonas V fourth at 1min13.
