Chris Froome has been left out of Israel Premier Tech’s 2023 Tour de France team.

He blames his equipment for his performances this year.

‘Physically I was ready, but unfortunately I was unable to show my full ability at the races assigned to me due to equipment issues.

I respect the team’s decision and will take some time before refocusing on objectives later in the season and returning to the Tour de France in 2024′.

Israel Premier Tech’s team for the 2023 Tour de France is:

  • Michael Woods
  • Dylan Teuns
  • Simon Clarke
  • Hugo Houle
  • Nick Schultz
  • Krists Neilands
  • Corbin Strong
  • Guillaume Boivin

The team is targeting stage wins rather than the General Classification.

Michael Woods and Dylan Teuns are expected to excel in the mountains. Earlier this month, Woods won the Route d’Occitanie.

Simon Clarke and Hugo Houle will focus on breakaways in the hilly stages, supported by Schultz and Neilands. Clarke won Stage 5 of the 2022 Tour, pipping Taco van der Hoorn, and Houle took a solo victory on Stage 16 in Foix.

Corbin Strong will be hoping for a sprint victory, supported by Guillaume Boivin.
