The Grand Départ 2027 takes place in Britain, with stages in Scotland, England and Wales.
The first stage sets off from Edinburgh and make its way south via a climb at the Côte de Melrose. It continues on rural roads through undulating terrrain, via Hawick, to Carlisle for a probable bunch sprint.
This video shows the route of Stage 1.

The second stage starts in the Lake District, in Keswick, and heads down the west coast to Lancaster. There are climbs in the second part of the stage before the finish in Liverpool.
This could be a day for the breakaway, or the race could end in a sprint from a reduced peloton.
This video shows the route of Stage 2.
The third stage is from Welshpool south to Cardiff.
The sharp climbs in the latter part of the day make this a GC stage, with the winner likely to be a puncheur or GC contender.
The Tour de France Femmes 2027 is also set to start with three stages in Britain. Leeds hosts the start of Stage 1.
