Earlier in the Day

There was a 4-man break, with Victor Campenaerts, Kasper Asgreen, Jonas Abrahamsen and Pascal Eenkhoorn.

Jasper Philipsen had words with Eenkhoorn when the Dutchman jumped to join the break. Eeenkhoorn told the Belgian, ‘if I want to race I’ll race, if you want to pull [on the front of the bunch] you pull’.

The break’s lead was under a minute with 30km or so to go, but they kept going and were still ahead near the finish line.

Campenaerts did a huge turn to set up his teammate Eenkhoorn, but it was Asgreen who was fastest in the sprint.
