Remco Evenepoel’s 2024 Tour de France Participation Confirmed
Remco Evenepoel’s participation at the 2024 Tour de France has been confirmed by his Soudal Quick-Step team, reports the BBC.
In 2022, the Belgian won the Vuelta a Espana and the World Championship road race.
In 2023, he withdrew from the Giro while leading after testing positive for Covid. He cracked on Stage 13 of the Vuelta to drop out of contention on GC, but won Stages 14 and 18. He then won the individual time trial at the World Championships in Scotland.
Evenepoel reflected on 2023 as follows.
‘Last year was a very special one so I can be proud of how things went, but all that happened in 2023 is in the past now and my entire focus is on this year’.

Technically, the past is not defined by the change of year – everything which has already happened, whether in 2023, 2024 or any other year, is in the past now.

It’s just time to ride the Tour; I will be 24 in two weeks. Every year you skip the Tour, there is one less. I am now in my sixth year as a professional and it is time to discover the Tour. Mentally and physically, I am ready’.
