The Grand Départ of the men’s 2027 Tour de France has been confirmed, and will take place in Edinburgh.

Altogether, there will be three stages in Great Britain. The Guardian says that Glasgow will feature while the race is in Scotland.

The 2027 Tour de France will also take in the Lake District and Manchester.

In what seems likely to be the third stage, the riders will go through mid-Wales and south Wales for a stage finish in Cardiff.

Tour de France Femmes Grand Départ 2027

While the men’s Tour de France is in July, the Tour de France Femmes is in August.

The Grand Départ of the women’s race is likely to be in Leeds.

Edinburgh Rider Sean Flynn

The Guardian quotes Edinburgh-born Picnic Post NL rider Sean Flynn who reflected on the 2027 Grand Départ in his home city.

‘I never thought I could have more motivation to ride in the Tour, but now that’s my long-term goal.

You see the impact it has everywhere the Tour goes. You saw it in Yorkshire a few years back, so it will be really special.

It will give such a boost to cycling in Scotland and it gives me a lot of motivation to be there, to be part of that’.
