Strong Bora Team Will Support Roglic at 2024 Tour de France

Bora-Hansgrohe have confirmed that new signing Primoz Roglic will be their sole leader at the 2024 Tour de France. The team hopes that the Slovenian will win the General Classification.
Cycling News has quotes from a Bora press conference in Mallorca yesterday.
‘I aim to be at my best level for the Tour de France.
I’m confident. It’s about executing it. We shouldn’t be afraid, then the result is what it is, we can only do our best, then we can all be happy.
There’s not much you have to do [to beat Jonas Vingegaard], you just have to be better than him. You can talk a lot, but at the end of the day you just have to finish ahead’.

Roglic’s Programme
Roglic will do an altitude camp, then start his season in March with Paris-Nice.
In April, he will do Itzulia Basque Country, then in June the Critérium du Dauphiné.
Getting to Know New Team Mates
The Slovenian recognises that the move from Jumbo represents a big change for him, but he is dealing with media questions about it with his characteristic dry humour.
‘For me it’s definitely quite a big change. There are completely different colours. There are new guys, new stuff and new challenges ahead.
After all these years with Jumbo-Visma team, joining Bora-Hansgrohe is a super welcome step for me. I’m looking forward to training more with everyone, to meet and speak to everyone, and then we’ll see out on the road how we go.
I’m excited for the new things we do together, we’ll push each other and try to create great memories and great stories together’.

The Supporting Cast at the Tour de France
Roglic’s teammates at la Grande Boucle will include Dani Martinez, Jai Hindley and Aleksandr Vlasov.
They will be there in a supporting role, according to Bora’s performance manager Rolf Aldag.
‘We’ll have a single leader strategy: Roglic. But you have to have tactical options too.
For the Tour, we have a long list, a combination of climbing support and different tactical opportunities. It’s a hectic and stressful start, so we have to be ready’.

Martinez, Hindley and Vlasov will be give opportunities in other races. Martinez is likely to the team leader at the Giro d’Italia, with Lennard Kamna taking part in the Italian grand tour too.
Bora’s full provisional Tour de France squad is
- Primoz Roglic
- Jai Hindley
- Aleksandr Vlasov
- Daniel Martinez
- Lennard Kamna
- Danny van Poppel
- Nico Denz
- Matteo Sobrero
Danny van Poppel will be expected to help Primoz Roglic on the flat and on the gravel roads on Stage 9. Presumably he will also be hoping to win a sprint stage.
