Different Hill Same Result on Stage 19

Pogacar won at Alpe d’Huez on Stage 19 of the 2026 Tour de France.
A large breakaway group got a gap of more than 4 minutes at its maximum. Mads Pedersen was in it, and he snaffled the green jersey points for the intermediate sprint at Le Périer.
The breakaway had a lead of around 3min30s at the bottom of the 13.8km Alpe d’Huez climb. Soon they were down to three – Sepp Kuss, Richard Carapaz and Lenny Martinez.
Pogacar attacked from his small group of GC favourites, sitting in the wheel of Adam Yates – who had dropped back from the break – for a time.
The Slovenian kept eating into the advantage of the breakaway three until the inevitable happened and he caught them with around 2km to go.
In the last kilometre, Pogacar simply rode Carapaz and Martinez off his wheel.
Martinez was second on the stage, and is up to fifth in the GC. Carapaz was third.
