It takes you north west from Poppleton, on a path on the right bank of the Ouse.

A fairly short drive from York, Sutton Bank offers some really exciting mountain biking options.
The different trails are rated green, blue, and red, so there's something for all ages and levels. There's also a cyclocross/all-weather cycle track through the Hambleton Plantation, with a pump track part way round.

The Hudson Way uses the trackbed of the old Market Weighton to Beverley railway line. It's flat and easy, so this ride is also in Family Bike Rides in York.
It goes through pleasant Yorkshire Wolds farmland, and the destination is the interesting and historic market town of Beverley. Since the railway no longer exists, you'll have to pedal back again!
