Stage 6 TDF 2023 Blog: Resurrection

After looking dead and buried yesterday, Tadej Pogacar was back again today, sprinting away from Jonas Vingegaard and winning the stage.
It was an odd performance.
Usually you can understand the trajectory of a rider; in this case, yesterday and today were worlds apart.
There was a big break that included Wout van Aert.
In the peloton, the race came to the boil on the Col du Tourmalet. Kelderman and Sepp Kuss led Jonas Vingegaard through La Mongie, dropping Jai Hindley but failing to drop Tadej Pogacar.
On the descent of the Tourmalet, the JV-TP group picked up WVA, who worked on the front to bring the GC leaders to the final climb.
There, Vingegaard led Pogacar until the Slovenian produced an attack, and rode away to the stage win.
