Quick-Step into Bordeaux on Stage 7

Tim Merlier of Soudal Quickstep won the sprint in Bordeaux on Stage 7.

Jasper Philipsen had a lead-out from Mathieu van der Poel, but appeared to be left on his own a little too far from the line. As well as Merlier, Soren Waerenskjold, Biniam Girmay and Max Kanter overtook Philipsen.

The break consisted of Baptiste Veistroffer and Jakub Otruba. The maximum lead they were allowed was 1min30s.

The duo were caught with 18km left.
